S'mores flavored bulletproof coffee is a great way to get those healthy fats. From Lowcarb-ology.com

I am determined to use less dairy and I really do like the bulletproof coffee, especially how it affects my body. I have a tough time with fuzzy thinking due, in part I think, to my lack of a thyroid. I have some ADD medicine that I take when I really have to but it drives my blood pressure up and I don’t like how that feels. When I drink the bulletproof coffee in the morning I really do think more clearly and have more energy.

Problem with that is, quite honestly, when it’s not flavored bulletproof coffee can get boring. VERY boring.

If I am drinking just the coffee I really start missing the heavy cream I like to have in it. The other day I was blending the ingredients in the blender and thought about adding some of my SF Torani syrups to it. After all, since they are sugar free it shouldn’t be a problem, right?

So far I have made S’more Bulletproof coffee, Salted Caramel Bulletproof coffee, French Vanilla Bulletproof coffee, and a vanilla caramel with a dusting of cinnamon. OMG – it’s totally revived my love for the coffee!

If you don’t know about bullet proof coffee and what it is then here’s the basics you need to know. It’s freshly ground, freshly brewed hot coffee blended with grass fed butter (Kerrygold) and coconut oil or MCT oil. You can add a little stevia if you want it sweeter. When you blend for a minute or two it the mixture becomes frothy and creamy — almost like a latte. It’s quite good, actually.

What it does is to get healthy fats into your body which, in turn, helps you burn fat if you are doing some form of low-carb diet. If you drink bulletproof coffee and then eat a danish you are going to get fat — it’s as simple as that. This is not an addition to the average American diet, it’s an addition to a low-carb lifestyle.

The fat in the butter and coconut (or MCT) oil helps to keep you from being hungry for hours at a time. It provides necessary saturated fats and CLAs. And the coffee boosts energy in a way that regular coffee drinks don’t. Some people have bulletproof coffee without eating breakfast but I think that’s crazy. Make a couple of scrambled eggs to go with it. You need the protein.

I have been on the egg fast for three full days and I have two more to go. As of this writing I have lost a total of 8 pounds and, while much of that is likely water, I am definitely feeling more energetic with no cravings at all. I’ll let you know if any of the weight climbs back on once I go back to regular low carb eating.

This stuff has a lot of calories. Don’t drink 20 cups a day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon should probably be the limit.

This flavored bulletproof coffee tastes like a super creamy S’mores Latte to me. Use whatever flavor of sugar free syrup you like and change it up. Try to pay attention to how you feel throughout the day. 🙂

The Italians sure know how to create flavors! The key to this recipe is the flavored syrups from Torani which are sugar free (and carb free !).
