Review of Jordan’s Skinny Mixes 0 Carb Cosmopolitan

I am used to having a glass of wine in the evening as I cook dinner or maybe afterward when I am kicking back and relaxing after a long day. It has become a ritual that I look forward to. However, wine has carbs.

Jordans Skinny Mixes Cosmopolitan

Oh, it is allowed once in awhile on OWL (ongoing weight loss) because there aren’t that many carbs in it but sadly it stalls me. Maybe after I am at my goal weight but for now I just need to make it an occasional thing. Still, sipping a glass of ice water with lemon, although very nice, just doesn’t give me that same feeling of the day being over.

The other day I happened to see Jordan’s Skinny mixes. I picked up the Cosmopolitan just to see if it was something that might work. Reading on the bottle it says that it has 0 carbs and 5 calories per 4 ounce serving. Vodka has 64 calories and no carbs per ounce.

Sounds like a match made in heaven to me.

I keep my vodka in the freezer and I pulled it out and put 2 ounces in a shaker. I added 4 ounces of the Cosmo mix and plenty of ice, shook it up and poured it in my glass.

Low Carb Cosmopolitan With an Orange

It makes a pretty good Cosmopolitan.

My issue with it is that it has that sort of chalky after taste that some sugar free products have. I am freaky about that because I don’t use many conventional sugar substitutes I usually use stevia and xylitol. I wish that the mix was made with one of them. I’m guessing that if you use the sugar substitutes regularly you won’t notice that aftertaste.

When it comes right down to it I probably won’t buy this again. I’d much rather drink a vodka with diet tonic. I’ve even found that I enjoy the tonic and lime without the vodka.

If you are having a cocktail party and are afraid that you will cave and have a high carb mixed drink it might be a good idea to have some of this on hand, especially if you ?use sucralose regularly.

They have several different mixes and all of them are low calorie but not all of them are low carb. Be sure to read the labels carefully if you decide to try one of the other flavors. Some have as much as 9 carbs per serving.

Do you have a favorite go to low carb cocktail?

  1. Hi! This is the first time I’ve been to your site. Would you tell me about your favorite mixes? I’m new at low carb diets and I’m wondering what food and drink I will celebrate my upcoming birthday with.
